Dangerous crimes against children is a special section and allegation
under the Arizona Revised Statutes. There is no actual separate crime
of dangerous crimes against children; rather, it an allegation that the
defendant committed the offense against a child under the age of 15
years old. That means the state is alleging the person committed a
dangerous crime, and the person committed the crime against a child
under the age of 15. It is an extremely serious allegation because just like any other dangerous offense allegation, if the state convicts someone of a dangerous crime against children, the defendant must go to prison.
